Ethics talk LIVE: Enabling good decisions through better communication

We are partnering with Nordic Business Ethics to host a webinar on 9 October, offering inspiration and practical examples for in-house E&C professionals and legal counsels on how to facilitate honest and sometimes uncomfortable and difficult discussions.
As we all know we live in an era of great uncertainty. Regulations – current and proposed – are questioned and enforcement halted. Global businesses and organizations are also operating in an increasingly politicized environment. Some regulations, such as environmental and human rights related regulations are highly political topics, where the US is unwinding support for environmental aspects, China is increasing their efforts and regulatory requirements relating to environmental topics.
We see the same trend in the anti-corruption field where US has signaled a shift in enforcement and China is introducing guidelines for compliance for certain sectors, such as healthcare. Fundamental human rights, such as lack of discrimination and equal opportunities are also put in question and interpreted in different ways.
In the midst of all of this uncertainty, businesses continue doing business and expect E&C and legal professionals to provide relevant advice and support. In complex commercial negotiations, dispute and conflict resolutions, and when assessing compliance related red flags, the skill of enabling a productive conversation is critical. We misunderstand each other, we listen poorly, we frame the question to exclude important perspectives, we avoid discomfort, we carry biases and we jump to conclusions.
Discussion Topics:
Cultural differences affecting how we understand each other.
How to manage difficult conversation?
What kind of advice do businesses expect from E&C and legal professionals?
These topics are crucial as businesses navigate evolving regulations and societal expectations.
We look forward to your active involvement and valuable insights!
